Irina Shayk is honored at the 2011 Russian Heritage Festival at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Thursday (June 9) in New York City.
NYC Mayor Michael R. Bloombergopened the festival by honoring several Russians including Irina Shayk, the first Russian model to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
The Russian Heritage Festival continues the tradition of celebrating the New York community of émigrés from the Former Soviet Union. The community has become the third largest ethnic group in New York. The month-long celebration of the arts and culture of area’s vast and vibrant Russian-speaking community will take place throughout the month of June in New York City.
