Javier Bardem Provides Inspiration to Chris Martin and Coldplay

Javier Bardem rocked a double denim ensemble for an afternoon appointment yesterday in LA. He's been hanging on the West Coast recently with his son, Leo, while his wife, Penelope Cruz, was off trekking around the globe to show off Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Javier is reportedly gearing up to film Bond 23, in which he's to play the villain. He's played a convincing bad guy in the past, though Javier's most recent film, Biutiful, involved him playing a more sympathetic role. The part earned Javier an Academy Award nomination in addition to inspiring Chris Martin to pen the new Coldplay track "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall."

Bardem has been awarded an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BAFTA, four Goya awards, two European Film Awards, an award for best actor in Cannes and two Coppa Volpis in Venice for his work. He is the first Spaniard to be nominated for an Oscar and the first to win an acting Oscar, rather than in the Foreign Language Film category. He received his third Oscar nomination, and the second best actor nomination for the film, Biutiful.
